On this 4 days tour you will visit the best of morocco highlights including its 4 imperial cities Rabat, Fes, and Marrakech  Full of historical monuments of the many dynasties that built architectural gems (Palaces, koranic schools, gardens, great walls, and beautiful doors…). on the way passing by the Sahara desert in Merzouga for a one-lifetime adventure of camel trekking in the golden dunes witnessing stunning sunset and sunrise on the Sahara dunes.

DAY – 1: CASABLANCA – RABAT  – FES

After breakfast we will drive one hour from Casablanca to the capital Rabat, a guided tour is scheduled starting with Chella a walled ruin of a town that lies in a short walk from the current medina of Rabat, south of the Ville Nouvelle. Designated a World Heritage Site in 2012, and we continue walking exploring kasbah des Oudayas located at the mouth of Bouregrag river with its Andalusian gardens, blue walls, and  flower-filled little streets.

After Rabat, we drive to Fes and visit the city of Fes, we visit the main highlights of the old town with a certified local guide. overnight in a riad in Fes.

DAY – 2: FES – MIDELT – ZIZ VALLEY – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA

After breakfast, we will drive to Midelt where we will have lunch passing by the small town Ifrane most clean and modern city in Morocco that was built in 1929 by the French trying to re-create an alpine-style resort,as a summer resort for French administrators and respite from the ferocious Moroccan summer heat. This Berber name of Ifran means caves nicknamed as “the Moroccan Switzerland”.  It is also the known for  Al-Akhawayn University (1995), a Private institution of higher education modeled on the American university system.

After lunch in Midelt we continue driving through landscapes offering great views of The mountains, rising behind the town to a massive range, the Jebel Ayachi, at over 3700m reaching the pre-Saharan zone passing first by Errachidia. We will stop in Ziz valley for pictures here is the beginning of the rich untouristed  palm groves. After we will stop in Erfoud the capital of fossils dating back hundreds of millions of years, the town  that host  every third week of October the date festival that features exhibitions and shows. Depending on if the time permits we can visit the mausoleum of Moulay Ali Chief in Rissani the founder of Alaouite dynasty came from, right after that we continue to the Merzouga just before sunset to spend the night in the Berber tent in the middle of the most spectacular dunes of morocco Erg Chebi, enjoy music, dance around the fire… dinner in the camp.

DAY 3- MERZOUGA – TODRA GORGE – DADES GORGE 

Wake up early for an unmissable sunrise over the high desert dunes after enjoying these special moments, time for breakfast and shower in the camp and get ready to continue our adventure driving from Merzouga to the most spectacular gorge of Morocco: Todra gorges that  measures just 33 feet across, but the cliffs are more than 500 feet tall on either side where you can walk and explore the traditions and lifestyle of ta Berber family from this  town  town known for making Moroccan carpets, After lunch we driver to Dades valley. Overnight and dinner in your hotel.

DAY – 4: DADES VALLEY – OUARZAZATE – AIT BENHADDOU – MARRAKECH

After breakfast we will start our day by visiting the beautiful rock formations of Dades gorges. then drive along valley of roses to reach Kalaa M’gouna or the town of roses as it is cold, the perfect time to visit this town is in late spring months as the city is covered in roses, in every first week of May there is the annual rose festival. Next stop will be Ouarzazate also known as Hollywood of Africa where it’s cinema studio was the shooting place for many big American movies such as Lawrence of Arabia (1962), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), The Living Daylights (1987), The Last Temptation of Christ (1988), The Mummy (1999), Gladiator (2000), Kingdom of Heaven (2005), Kundun (1997), Legionnaire (1998), Hanna (2011), The Hills Have Eyes (2006), and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (2011) were shot here, as was part of the TV series Game of Thrones. After we will visit the Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO site ancient palace where we will have lunch and start driving to Marrakech passing by the beautiful landscapes of Berber villages and Atlas mountains.
